Drawing and Writing

Conversation and workshop led by Martina Zorzón and Daniela Rodi

Rumor secreto is a drawing and writing workshop specially designed to explore and delve into the current exhibitions of the artists at CRUDO. You are invited to get close to their works and learn about their creative processes through a guided conversation, and then join a hands-on workshop together with the artists.

Todo puede ser otra cosa — Martina Zorzón
Encuentro y manifestación — Daniela Rodi

Through drawing and writing, we will find that it is possible to give objects new dimensions, beyond their original functionality. What new stories and gestures might emerge when we focus on details and ask them a few questions?

Workshop format

We will take a walk through the exhibitions, discussing the works and their processes. The artworks are, or can be, didactic artifacts. Then, based on prompts and various triggers, we will use drawing and writing to reflect on personal experiences. In the end, we will create an object that gathers the ideas that have surfaced.

Collection

Here’s a list of materials to gather for the workshop:

  • Collect 6 objects to bring on the day of the workshop (borrowed, found, personal, etc., of any size).

  • For each of these 6 objects, write down 4 words in a notebook — words attached to them, not descriptive, but rather accompanying.

  • 2 sheets of cardboard, 29 x 42 cm (A3) minimum, any color.

  • Materials you usually work with (pencils, markers, tempera, acrylics, ink, magazines, assorted papers, fabrics, etc.).

Date: Saturday, April 15
Duration: 3 hours — from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Format: In person
Location: CRUDO — Italia 1044
Fee: $3,500 — limited spots (CBU // ALIAS: crudo.arte)
