Pequeño poema volcán (Diptych) by Facundo Diaz
Year: 2021/2024
Medium: Oil and pencil on paper
Dimensions: 60 × 19 cm
Statement:
Word, drawing, and painting form a trilogy and a unity in his work. He uses these languages as means to reveal personal mysteries and heighten uncertainty through the recurring use of landscape, geography, and fire. In his pieces, nature and its elements intertwine with the realm of dreams and reality, invoking cryptozoology—a pseudoscience and subculture that seeks to prove the existence of extinct, mythological, or folkloric creatures. By performatively embodying these beings, he records them in remote landscapes. In his texts, he questions and blurs boundaries by asserting that drawing is “taking responsibility for a way of writing, and writing is taking responsibility for a way of drawing.”
Nocaut by Fepi Farina
Year: 2024
Medium: Acrylic on floor cloth
Dimensions: 60 × 62 cm
Statement:
His work combines drawing, animation, digital painting, 3D modeling, and a constant dialogue with artificial intelligences, translating these experiences into physical formats through prints, transfers, or traditional techniques such as painting on various supports. His favorite tool is Paint. His recurring themes include irony, humor, strangeness, and ugliness, with ongoing references to the history of painting and contemporary issues.
